Year 5 pupils visiting Escola Les Acàcies in Barcelona 18.-22.4.2023


The cooperation between Rastaala and Les Acàcies started in November 2022 when Rastaala teachers participated in job shadowing and preparatory visit in Barcelona. It was decided that in both schools it is the 5th graders participating in Erasmus activities that also include the possibility to travel. After making videos and presentations about their school, culture etc. and seeing each other in a videoconference, the pupils finally met in real life in April 2023 when ten pupils and four teachers visited Escola Les Acàcies. 

During the week we had beach activities, gave presentations to each other about the Finnish and Spanish culture, had different workshops and went sightseeing.

Ten pupils and four teachers spent three wonderful days in Barcelona playing beach games with local 5th graders, participating in lessons and making magnets for souvenirs, going on a school trip into the city and doing different tasks with new friends while walking around and - last but not least - visiting the amazing Sagrada Familia.  Travel diaries with pictures (more diaries coming up soon): Areesha Nasra Iiris Opettajien matkakertomus Kukaan oppilaista ei potenut ainakaan pahemmin koti-ikävää, sillä yhteyttä pidettiin koko ajan. Lisäksi isäntäperhe tuntui tutulta, sillä yhteyttä siihen suuntaan oli pidetty jo ennen matkaa. Isäntäperheessä asuminen opetti hiukan itsenäisyyttä, omista asioista huolehtimista, vieraiden ihmisten kanssa toimimisesta (vieraalla kielellä) ja kulttuurieroja.  Perheet tekivät paljon joka päivä, joten tekemistä ei puuttunut. Oppilaat osallistuivat jatkuvasti ja aktiivisesti monenlaiseen toimintaan sekä vapaa-ajalla että koulussa. Oppilaat ystävysty...

Pupils of Les Acàcies visiting Rastaala 11.-15.3.2024

In March Rastaala welcomed ten 6th grade pupils and three teachers from Escola Les Acàcies in Barcelona. Read more about the pupils' thoughts on Erasmus and pupil visits on this page.
