Rastaalan Erasmus

The cooperation between Rastaala and Les Acàcies started in November 2022 when Rastaala teachers participated in job shadowing and preparatory visit in Barcelona. It was decided that in both schools it is the 5th graders participating in Erasmus activities that also include the possibility to travel. After making videos and presentations about their school, culture etc. and seeing each other in a videoconference, the pupils finally met in real life in April 2023 when ten pupils and four teachers visited Escola Les Acàcies.  During the week we had beach activities, gave presentations to each other about the Finnish and Spanish culture, had different workshops and went sightseeing.  Parc Güell We even made it to the local news - watch it  here .  Find out more about the trip by reading the pupils' travel diaries:  Valtteri   Lamar   Arla   Aino  

Six teachers and the head teacher visited The First Dimotiko Scholio Rethymnou which was originally founded for immigrant children of the time in 1795, so they have had a lot of experience even before the refugee wave of 2015, which particularly affected Greece. Therefore this school was a good destination for job shadowing. Two of our teachers participated in ShipCon course Integrating minority, migrant & refugee children at European schools & society  in Cyprus 15.5 - 19.5.
